Noddea Skidmore, ArtPrize
Event Producer
Noddea (Moore) Skidmore is a 2002 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations. As an active student leader, she was a Student Senator who served as Vice President of Public Relations on the Senate Cabinet. However, she feels she made her greatest impact as a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, holding over half a dozen leadership positions including Chapter President. She was a two-time recipient of the Most Dedicated Sister Award named in honor of the chapter’s original advisor. In the 2001-2002 academic year, Noddea traveled the US and Canada as a Chapter Consultant for AOII and specialized in the areas of ritual, hazing awareness and prevention, and colony/new chapter development.
A self-proclaimed “Jane of all trades”, Noddea has dabbled in a variety of professions including bridal stylist, student affairs professional, cake designer, and currently serves as the Event Producer for the world’s largest open juried art competition, ArtPrize, which brought nearly half a million visitors to downtown Grand Rapids during the 2013 event. Over the course of the 19 day affair, Noddea was responsible for overseeing and executing over a dozen community, sponsor, artist, and private events.
Noddea’s community involvement includes serving as the Executive Director of the Miss Spirit of the State Scholarship Program (a preliminary competition to Miss Michigan and Miss America), serving on a committee for Community Circle Theatre, and performing on stage for Circle Theatre, Actors’ Theatre, and Civic Theatre. She loves going to the movies with her husband Calin, snuggling with her dogs Beatle and Big, shopping for shoes, and running two businesses, Stiletto Sweets, and working as an Independent Brand Partner for Nerium International.
